Siegfried is a sought-after tax lawyer who serves the Surinamese and Dutch Caribbean jurisdictions.

Suriname
He has extensive and specialist experience with advising Companies in the Oil & Gas sector of Suriname. Over the past 10 years, his Surinamese Oil & Gas practice has included transactions (m&a), tax and legal structuring and advisory, regulatory matters and local implementation. Siegfried is known for his in-depth knowledge and hands on experience on tax & legal matters regarding the Oil & Gas sector in Suriname.

Dutch Caribbean
In the Dutch Caribbean, Siegfried mainly focuses on tax litigation (fiscale advocatuur). He is known to resolve conflicts with the Tax Authorities – inside and outside of court. With his expertise including tax and penalty procedures, tax audit by the Tax Authorities, voluntary disclosure of income or assets, international exchange of information, tax collection proceedings, liability of taxes and tax fraud/criminal tax law. He also regularly publishes on aforementioned subjects.

Before joining HBN Law & Tax, Siegfried was the managing partner at Kenswil & Co in Suriname. Before that he gained international experience with international firms in the Netherlands and Middle East.

Siegfried obtained his Master’s degree (international tax law and tax litigation) at the University of Leiden in 2007 and speaks Dutch, English and Spanish.
