Jeroen has vast experience in mergers & acquisitions, banking & finance, investment funds and asset protection & wealth preservation. He advises, and litigates for, international and national financial institutions, corporations and high-net individuals and frequently acts as boardroom advisor. Jeroen is also a tax lawyer and involved in tax investigations and related tax litigation.
During his long career, Jeroen has been working for the Rotterdam maritime practice of Van Traa advocaten, the trust practice of Trenité Van Doorne as resident partner in Curaçao, and was a director and shareholder at Amicorp Trust.
Jeroen has been a member of the Curaçao committee for the drafting of mutual fund legislation and of the sub-committee of the Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten on the drafting of the Exemption Regulations under the Curaçao Ordinance on the Supervision of Credit Institutions. He was co-chair of the Task Force legal & tax Curaçao E-Commerce Platform.
Jeroen is a part-time lecturer on corporate governance, private international law and corporate law at the University of the Dutch Caribbean and Jeroen speaks at seminars and conferences and has authored several publications. In his private time he is the chairman of an elementary school and a board member of the Curaçao foundation for the protection of woman against sexual abuse.
Jeroen obtained his Masters’ degree at the University of Utrecht (Civil Law and Economic Public Law) and Leiden (Tax Law) and speaks Dutch, English and German.
