André Ettema

André provides strategic advice on complex litigation, liability matters and legal risk management. His focus is on preventing or resolving disputes with well-considered strategies that serve clients’ long-term interests. His legal specialty is financial litigation and insurance and pensions regulation.

Before joining HBN Law & Tax, André’s experience as Head of Legal of a large Dutch insurer gives him the ability to bridge legal expertise with business acumen, organizational realities and (change) management.

In addition to his legal practice, André is pursuing a PhD at Radboud University Nijmegen, researching the concept of duty of care in the context of pension funds and insurers. He is the author of numerous publications and is a frequent lecturer.

André holds a law degree from Radboud University Nijmegen and a postgraduate degree in Financial Law from the University of Amsterdam. He has completed executive education at INSEAD, Nyenrode Business University and General Counsel Academy.

André speaks Dutch, English and French.
