André Ettema

André specializes in litigation and regulation in insurance, pensions and financial services. He also works on complex liability issues, contractual disputes and legal risk.

Before joining HBN Law & Tax, André was Head of Legal at a large Dutch insurer. He is an experienced legal manager with an insider’s understanding of organizational realities and business strategy. Previously, he worked as a litigator in corporate and commercial disputes.

In addition to his practice, André is pursuing a PhD at Radboud University Nijmegen on the concept of duty of care. He is a frequent author and speaker on his areas of expertise.

André holds a law degree from Radboud University Nijmegen and a postgraduate degree in Financial Law from the University of Amsterdam. He has completed executive education at INSEAD, Nyenrode Business University and General Counsel Academy.

André speaks Dutch, English and French.
