The National Ordinance on Games of Chance

The National Ordinance on Games of Chance (in Dutch: Landsverordening op de kansspelen (“LOK”) has been approved in parliament and will become effective on December 24, 2024. Important changes are:

• Gaming licenses are issued by the Curaçao Gaming Authority;
• Supervision on the gaming sector shall be conducted by the CGA;
• Clarification on tax consequences of transactions within the gaming sector;
• Economic substance requirements;
• Compliance requirements;
• AML requirements.
